person when you take into account the entire city of east san jose. the man, that is all we know, was jay walking after 6:00 this morning while it was still dark out and most likely raining. he was attempting to cross alum rock and was 75 feet away from the nearest crosswalk when the car ran into him. the car did speed off and did not stop or return. the police are looking for the driver. it was a dark sedan. a second vehicle, a minivan, also struck the man. that driver did stop and is cooperating with police. as far as the investigation, officers have been going to the surrounding businesses. you have four businesses on this intersection here trying to see if any of the surveillance cameras caught the accident and perhaps the person who fled the scene. down the street, the east side neighborhood center for seniors has been trying to get the city to make the alum rock corridor safer for pedestrians, especially for seniors. you have the fast cars combined with the culture of jay walking because the crosswalks are so far apart. >> the volume of the cars that go and the traffic is really cla

nature so far in san francisco the heavy rain has really hit the city of san francisco yet but we have had pockets of light rain but there is rain spread widely across the bay area right now as we look at live doppler 7 hd throu some offshore beginning to push on land. some over san francisco and reaching up into the delta area up into the northeast out towards sacramento here's the line of showers closer look from novato in marin county. over to richmond on the east bay. down 0to san francisco and a little bit closer. you see there is light moderate even maybe some pockets of heavy rainfall in this little pocket of rainfall right here in the area of rain. so we have wet weather now pushing through the central part of the bay area as we loop the radar. see over the last 3 hours movement of the system is sweeping eastward. south ward so all get some rain before the night is over. right now temperature readings generally in the low 60's around the bay area and these are our forecast features we see rain spreading south ward and eastward overnight. showers will difficult manipulate

to another city. we do know that this intersection will be closed for the next several hours. that's a concern to residents here because there are three schools in this vicinity. reporting live from milpitas, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> happening now, a police standoff ended on treasure island a little while ago. christien kafton has been on this story since 4:30 this morning. what do you know now? >> reporter: police are confirming that this standoff did end with the suspect dying from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. we're on treasure island. keep in mind. you can see what appears to be the suspect's vehicle. the suspect's body was just taken from the scene here. he held off police for about five hours here with a gun to his head. police are now allowing cars to come and go from the island. they are using just one lane, though, so access to treasure island is somewhat restricted because they are allowing inbound traffic to come in and then they will stop and allow outbound traffic for a little while. people were stranded for hours as a situation developed

at the pentagon city mall at arlington, virginia. she joins us now. stacey, some 200 stores in this mall, four levels? what have you been seeing? >> it's enormous. if you want to shop this is the place to do it. some of the anchor stores, larger retailers opened at midnight. the store in general opened at 5:00 this morning. i just got some numbers on the parking lot which usually can tell you some idea of how many people are here. it's about 15% full. that is as of 5:00 a.m. keep in mind, that's 5:00 a.m. and we also have a metro station within walking distance of the mall. so many people come here that way. people are steady filing in. and, i just got this, which is i've not seen black fridays before, this is a shopper bag that they are providing, a shopper relief bag to shoppers out here. they've got some really neat items, bottled water. they have hand sanitizer. there are smacks in here, candy and ships and a lot of coupons for the stores. so that's on top of the black friday deals they're already offering. these are available as supplies last. made me feel good because i haven't been able
